A gene responsible for stress has been described as an increased risk of death in heart attack or heart disease.

In heart patients who have such gene related changes, the risk of heart attack increases by 38%. The British Heart Foundation says that this study directly evidences the increased risk of cardiovascular diseases due to stress.

A team from the Duke Uni Transformation School of Medicine studied DNA about the human genome, which is linked to stress. They found that the risk of seizures or death in heart patients increases by 38% when the gene changes.

Scientists studied for seven years to arrive at this fact. Based on their results, it can be said that by avoiding stress, death of heart attack can be reduced through technique and drug therapy.

Director associated with Duke University School of Medicine, Drs. Redfurt Williams said that this study is the first step towards identifying similar people based on genetic variation, who are at risk of heart disease.

Dr Williams told the BBC that on the basis of which we have taken a step towards identifying people who may have cardiac diseases.

He said that with this, different medicines will be given to different people for heart disease.

Researchers said that identifying the changes in the gene could start treating people at risk of heart disease early.

Among the 6,000 heart patients included in the study, 10 percent of men and three percent of women experienced a reversal of genes from emotional stress.

Commenting on this study, Professor Jeremy Pearson, Associate Medical Director of the British Heart Foundation, said that this provides further evidence of the risk of heart disease risk due to stress.
