Shri Venkateshwara University is an autonomous body promulgated by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh Act. No. 26 of 2010, passed by Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The University is further approved by the UGC u/s 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956, with the right to confer degree u/s 22(1) of the UGC Act.

Shri Venkateshwara University is promoted by Shri Bankey Bihari Educational And Welfare Trust (SBBEWT). It is controlled by a Board of Management, constituted by SBBEWT, which is headed by the Chancellor Shri Sudhir Giri, a great visionary, educationist and nationalist, who translated his ideas and dreams of promoting higher education into reality by setting up Institutes of Higher Learning in various subjects, carving a niche as an educationist and aiding inculcation of values in the young generation. The Trust had established the infrastructure for starting the said medical college and teaching hospital in one of the backward areas in the State of U.P., and the hospital is running for more than eight years.

Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences, Gajraula is a budding Institute in the field of medical education medical-education and research. The institution is set up with an objective of providing health care from basic to advance treatment to the local needy population with the personal touch and best class care. The campus is spread over a sprawling 26 acres land on the NH-24 at Gajraula, Dist. Amroha U.P., in a pollution free and healthy environment. VIMS runs a 650 bedded hospital with accommodation, multiple specialties, Operation Theatres, Labs, Casualty, OPD, Pharmacy, Blood Bank, Critical Care, etc.

INFRASTRUCTURE

CENTRAL LIBRARY

The Institute has a nice & impressive Air Conditioned library where there is a cosy & healthy environment for reading & consulting. The library has a rich collection of books on all areas of medical science written by renowned national & international authors. Journals & Periodicals, Video Cassettes, Audio Cassettes & News Papers, Photocopiers, Computer unit with Printers are housed in the library of the Institute.

Library has a rich collection of around 7,000 volumes of Text books, Reference books, National and International Journals in all subjects. Faculty and Students are given access to e-library. 100 Mbps internet connection with 40 Desktop PCs is provided in the Library. It also has outside sitting library area in open area.

LECTURE THEATERS:

All lecture theaters  are equipped with state of art facilities, fully air conditioned with all audio visual aids like LCDs, OHPs, Smart boards, White boards, microphones, collar mikes, facilities of e-classes & virtual classes with power backup.

ACADEMIC BLOCK

All the Non-clinical & Para-clinical Departments are located in the college building. Each Department has two demonstration rooms with a capacity of 90 students. Administrative Wing is also functioning in the college building.

All the Departments have advanced Laboratories, Museums, Departmental Library cum Seminar Rooms, Research Lab & Rooms for faculty members and Staff.

EXAMINATION HALL

Air conditioned examination hall with seating capacity for 280 students and CCTV cameras, requisite norms is available for smooth conduction of examinations.

CENTRAL RESEARCH LAB

Central Research Lab of VIMS is under the control of the Dean, and is well equipped with advanced research facilities for students and faculty.

MEDICAL EDUCATION UNIT (M.E.U.)

Medical Education Unit of VIMS, with the DEAN of Medical College as its Chairperson, regularly holds workshops to upgrade the teaching skills of the faculty members. The unit members and co-coordinators have undergone training in National and Regional Workshops organized by MCI. The MEU holds its meetings 4 to 5 times in a year to provide oversight on the educational activities and ensure continuous quality improvement in Medical education. MEU is with all modern audio-visual aids and has the latest books and journals on medical education.

CAFETERIA

The cafeteria is open 24×7  for all offering a variety of snacks and food articles at an affordable cost.

Another then Hospital canteen, the college block also has a canteen with delicious and hygienic refreshments for student & staff members.

ANIMAL HOUSE

Under the department of pharmacology an animal house is maintained for experimental and research work. This animal house is approved by cpcsea for maintaining small animals. The institutional animal ethics committee is constituted for approval of the protocol. Besides software on animal studies are available for demonstration purpose.

CENTRAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SECTION

Central Photographic and Audio-visual Section with studio, dark room, enlarging and photostat work is available for smooth functioning.

CENTRAL WORKSHOP

Central Workshop has Electrical & BioMedical Engineering Departments with facilities for repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment of the college and hospital.

 TRANSPORT

There is a provision for providing transport services with a fleet of luxury buses for students and faculty members coming from nearby places.

CENTRALIZED A.C. AUDITORIUM

Auditorium with seating capacity for 500 seating is centrally air-conditioned with state of art facilities.

BANK

IDBI bank branch is situated in the campus offering CBS and SDV locker facilities. A separate ATM for ease of withdrawal is also established on the campus.

ACCOMMODATION

RESIDENTIAL QUARTERS

The Institute has residential facilities for faculty members and nursing staff located on a pollution free area in the campus with 24-hour security, water, electricity and internet supply.

HOSTEL

There are two hostels in the campus separate for boys girls with the facility of cabinets, beds, furniture, washrooms separate dining hall for each. Also free internet facility, fully equipped gymnasium, indoor game facilities are provided in each hostel.

SPORTS FACILITY

There is a big sports ground in the campus where students can involve themselves in various sports like football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, etc.

Patients coming to OPD of Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital find a congenial and helpful atmosphere.
