Kushal Desai is currently Chairman &Managing Director of Apar Industries Ltd. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering and a Business degree from the Wharton School, both of which are part of University of Pennsylvania.
Kushal Desai was the Managing Director of GE Lighting in India and held various positions with Apar’s Lighting business and General Electric from 1989 till 1996, before assuming the current position. He was also associated with AparInfotech, a system integration software company, which he co-founded in 1997 and actively worked with till 2004. AparInfotech was operating in 13 countries around the world and listed on NASDAQ in September 2004. Besides AparInfotech, Kushal has been in-charge of the Specialty Oil business from 1997 onwards. He has been associated with ELCOMA and IEEMA, leading industry bodies in their respective fields in various capacities in the past.
Kushal Desai is on the Board of Governors of DDMM Heart Hospital, Nadiad (Gujarat), which is a charitable institution in the field of Healthcare.He sits on the Board of Trustees of The Lady Northcote Hindu Orphanage and is an Advisor to Midday Meal Program “Annamrita” which caters daily Lunch to over 1.6 million under-privileged children in Govt. schools in India.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae; abbreviated in many ways, most commonly MBBS, but also MB ChB, BMBS, MB BCh, MB BChir), is the primary medical degree awarded by medical schools in countries that follow the tradition of the United Kingdom. The historical degree nomenclature states that they are two separate undergraduate degrees. In practice, however, they are usually combined as one and conferred together, and may also be awarded at graduate-level medical schools.

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner. The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). MBBS course syllabus includes studies on anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The syllabus, prescribed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. The career specialisations for MBBS students are Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.
