Hindu Rao Hospital:
On the ridge in Civil Line area of Delhi, almost opposite to the Ashoka Pillar is Hindu Rao Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals of Delhi. The hospital's main building is popularly known as Hindu Rao's House. The history of the hospital's main building is of special interest, as it was built in the early 19th century on a large scale, as a residence of the dynamic officer, William Fraser, who also later became the city's Resident.

 The Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI) is a unique postgraduate medical institution devoted to the study of chest diseases. The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), was established on 9th March, 1977 by the merger of two national level institutions, viz. the National Institute of Health Administration and Education (NIHAE) and the National Institute of Family Planning (NIFP). The Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has been established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute, under the Societies act.

The mission of ILBS is to become a dedicated international centre of excellence for the diagnosis, management and advanced training and research in the field of liver and biliary diseases.

The first phase of ILBS is already functional having 180 hospital beds, 74 of which cater as intensive care (ICU) beds.
