It is a matter of great pleasure to congratulate the people of north Kashmir for having a good institute namely Govt. Medical College Baramulla which will prove an advanced health care facility for the public living in the area.

North Kashmir is the biggest zone in the UT of Jammu And Kashmir which is spread over three border districts namely Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara. The area is connected with the LOC from three sides i.e. Uri – Gulmarg, Kupwara –Tangdar , Bandipora – Gurez . The people living in these hilly areas were facing difficulties in receiving advanced health care facilities in earlier years which has now been eradicated by the Govt. Of India /UT of J&K in the shape of Govt. Medical College Baramulla.

The Govt. Medical College Baramulla has recently been established in November 2018 and is at the initial stage of progress. The District Hospital Baramulla has also been upgraded as Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla which has become the only referral hospital for all the three districts of North Kashmir. The patient flow has , therefore , increased manifold, as the referral cases to city based Hospitals have been minimized to the extreme possibility. The expectations of people have also increased for having better health care facilities from the establishment of Govt. Medical College in north Kashmir and every staff member posted here is extending the capability to come up to the best satisfaction of the patients visiting the medical college .

The Officers posted in GMC BARAMULLA having administration responsibilities are trying hard to build up the required facilities in the shape of infrastructure and machinery as well as man power so that the College and Associated Hospital is developed within the shortest possible period.

I hope and expect that the Govt. Medical College Baramulla will prove a great institute, beneficial for the general public and provide good Doctors for the society in future.
